This ranking shows that the software sector in France performed strongly in 2022 despite an unfavorable macroeconomic context. Total sales in the SaaS sector exceeded €25 billion, recording year-on-year growth of 14.8%, the strongest since 2019. Le Monde Informatique comments: “This review of the French software publishing industry offers few surprises in terms of the top ten. In first place is the unchallenged Dassault Systèmes – up 16.2% – followed by Cegid and Murex. In terms of trends, the cloud, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence are the three main technological trends that will drive the market in 2023. Still firmly in first place, the cloud (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS) seems to have reached a plateau at 77% after several years of growth of between 20% and 50% a year. This year, artificial intelligence has seen the strongest growth (+7 points), with cybersecurity tied for 2nd place at 54%. AI and ML are fundamental trends that should continue to grow strongly over the next few years, as should the supposed potential of ChatGPT and its ilk.”
This highlights the importance of the sector’s challenges and its driving role in R&D (Research & Development) activities in France. It also underlines the fact that software publishers are one of the best growth driver in France when it comes to innovation.
The Truffle 100 reports a 16th year of growth for our industry. The 100 companies in the ranking show a 10% growth in their activity in 2021.
