An accessibility-by-design approach

In today’s world, diversity is celebrated and inclusion highly valued. In the contact center, cloud-based CCaaS solutions facilitate continuous upgrades and improvements, empowering agents, supervisors, and administrators with new and enhanced accessibility features.

Intentional design

Odigo is actively advancing an accessibility-by-design approach. Not only is accessibility part of our CSR approach, behavior and practices, it’s a critical consideration for our products.

Accessibility isn’t about tacking on extra features; it’s about thoughtfully integrating intuitive design elements that address major barriers. Weaving these elements into the design from the outset, creates experiences that are naturally inclusive, ensuring accessibility is a fundamental aspect of development, not an afterthought.

Our accessibility-by-design approach is guided by
the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) four principles of accessibility:

Perceivable

Information and user interface components cannot be invisible to all a user’s senses.

Operable

Users should be able to interact with an interface in a way that suits their abilities.

Understandable

Both the information and the operation of the user interface must be clear and comprehensible.

Robust

Content must be robust enough to be interpreted reliably by a wide variety of user agents, including assistive technologies.

Inclusive design benefits everyone

Technology shouldn’t just be usable; it should be intuitive and inviting to all current and future Odigo solution users.

Odigo aims to ensure that inclusive, accessible design is a core part of our R&D processes. The impact of this commitment extends beyond enhancing the user experience for people with a wide range of disabilities; it improves usability for everyone.

Embracing accessibility by design is a positive step towards a more inclusive digital future for agents, supervisors and admins alike.

Operationalizing our approach

Odigo’s accessibility-by-design approach is embodied by all our employees and based on three pillars
Awareness and training

Understanding not only market needs but the needs of real people. Key team members, such as those in UX/UI and QA testing, will undergo specific accessibility training.

Library of widgets

Creating a comprehensive library of accessibility elements to ensure visibility on, and accessibility to all possible variations: color, contrast, style and ARIA labels (Accessible Rich Internet Applications).

Rigorous testing

Building on previous initiatives aimed at securing AA WCAG component status we are defining a specific set of testing tools, test engineers and test scripts for rigorous testing.
